Ans:- Dr.Sadao encounter with tha dilemmas to live as private individual whose moral responsiblity is to save the soldier and second arrest.japanish to make the soldier arrested .
so as a doctor and as an individual his first job is to save the man . he risk his life, fame and social status and takes him to his house and make effort to save him .
but his other sight that is sense of patriotism also involves a report to police. he takes the general to confident and plans to make him killed . but later or again helps the soldier on escaping off.
Q 2 dr sadao was compelled by his duty as a doctor to help the enemy soldier ,what made hana his wife sumparhetic to him in the face of open defiance from the domestic staff?
ans :- hana was a kind hearted lady. she was highly move by seeing the wound and safferings of the American . She wanted to do whatever was in her power to lessen the suffering of the american .she was also a devoted wife so decided to help her husband in his work . besids the hostile atlitude of the servant make her angry and strengthened her decision to help the suffering man .so it was her humanity and her devotion to her husband .which made her help the enemy soldier .

ans :- TOM WAS THE ESCAPED PRISONER OF WAR . He was badly injurred and was near his death .when doctor sadao and hana took him under their care .dr sadao saved his life. while his wife took after him . tom knew that he was alife only because of them . outside the portection of their home , there was no hope for him . he could be arrested again .he did not know where and how to escaped out of japan . he was sure that a safest place for him was dr sadao house . he had developed a bond of friendship and trust with dr sadao and his wife . beside he had not fully recoverd from his wife .beside he had not fully recoverd from his injuries to make and escape that is why he was relucrant to live dr sadao house .

and :- the general was a patriot but he was to busy thinling about his personal intrust , he was ill and was suffering a lot , he knew that he would not survive for long . this absorbed all his attention and made him careless to world other important thing . he knew that only dr sadao had the skill to sale his life . so the general did not want to so anything .which wold endanger dr sadao .but he could have got rid of the American.. by sending the killlers as was planed .but his personal consideration . out weighed everything else and he forgot todoit . this was derelictions of duty and self absorption an the part of the general.

the doctors final solution to the problems was the best possoble one in the circumstances .he had no other aption .when doctors sadao found the American he was badly injured and could not have survived without dr sadao help . he saved his life wothout thinking that he was saving an enemies life .later on the informed the genera about him . if was the general who failed to fulfill his promiss. the trauma of waiting become to much for dr sadao as it started affection his finally also .beside it was difficult for him to see a man hidden in his house. he had risked everything by saving tom's life .so he could not let hin die life this, therefore he did what he thought was the best for on and let him escape..

Ans:-the story remind us of birth by A.J.Cornic as there are many similarities between the two stories .both the stories are of doctors .who safe life keeping aside personal consideration in birth doctors save the life of a still born child . im the enemies Dr.Sadao save the life of an American prisnor of war . in both the stories Doctors face a dilemma and they have to take tuff decision . dr Andrew was in dilemma to save the mother or the child first as both of them were in critical stage. on the enemy Dr .Sadao was on confusion wether to save the American life or not. his sence of duty prevailed and he save Toms life thuse both the stories highlights the selfless dedication of dictors to their choosen profession.

The wounde American was on a very bad state and needed to be washed before being operated on. Hana did not want dr sadao to clean the dirty and unconsisious prisoner and so asked their servant Yumi to do so .but yumi defined her master order .as a result Hana had no other option but to wash him.
