Ans:- The poet can see the pale and faded face of her mother. She looks like a corpse ( dead body). She is in the process of ageing. The poet thinks of her mother approaching death.
Q2: Why are young trees described as sprinting?
Ans:-The young trees are described as sprinting because from the moving car the tree growing outside appear to the running fast with the speeding car. The trees are full of energy and liveliness.
Q3: Why has the poet brought in the image of the Marry children 'spilling out of their home'?
Ans:-The poet has brought in the image of the Merry children 'spilling out of their homes' because she wants to highlight the liveliness an energy of the out side word.
By using this image present a contract. the poet mother is dozing. Her face appears lifeless and pain like a corpse. She is an image of again. on the other hand the children are happy they are full of life energy and happiness
Q4: Why has the mother been compared to the 'late winter moon '?
Ans: The mother has been compared to the ' late winter moon 'because she is 66 year old and under and again process. Her face has lost it shine and strength and look pale and faded like that of crops. Similarly the late winter moon look him and hazy lacking shine and straight.Hence the comparison quite natural and appropriate.

Ans:- The parting world of the poet reviled both hope and fear. at the age of 66 anything can happen to the mother but she hides her real fear of her mother, approaching and smile withat with a hope that they will meet again soon.
